Financial Aid

You are currently browsing the archive for the Financial Aid category.

As the cost of higher education rises, the Penn State Smeal MBA Program continues to generously support its students with significant merit-based aid opportunities. As you consider an MBA program, it’s important to understand the financial support that is available to you.

All of our awards are based on the merit of your application. This includes factors such as the quality and quantity of work experience, leadership experience and potential, standardized test scores, academic transcripts, and communication skills. It is in your best interest to strive to put forth the best application possible in order to not only be considered for admission, but also for your best chance at financial support.

Types of aid we offer:

Graduate Assistantships—Our highest level of merit-based award, a GA comes with a full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend paid in exchange for working part-time for the business school. GAs are also eligible for subsidized health insurance.

Scholarships— The Penn State Smeal MBA scholarships are funded by alumni and friends of Penn State to attract outstanding students who will bring academic excellence, leadership potential, diversity, and unique perspectives to the class. Scholarship amounts typically range from $5,000-$15,000 USD.

Your application for admission is also your application for merit-based aid consideration, so no additional materials are required. ALL applicants (domestic and international) applying by the January 10th deadline are automatically considered for all of the opportunities available.

This year, we are extremely proud to report that 100% of this fall’s incoming class received some level of merit-based aid.
