We’ve seen some issues with a fresh install of lion and connecting to wireless. There are no options for adding or updating the 802.1x info in lion. The current version of our cisco vpn does not work either.
To fix this problem, please go to the penn state page wireless 2.0 page and when prompted to choose the OS, choose the iOS version and it will download a mobile config file and that method works or give us a call and we’ll be happy to assist you with this process.
Again, this is only for a clean install…on the upgrades, you’ll see that psu is a migrated profile but again, no edit options.
Could you provide some links? So you are saying the only way to fix this problem is to use Web 2.0? I thought that wasn’t configured for use yet.
Hi Zack,
There are two ways around getting the wireless at Penn State to work on Lion. Wireless 2.0 is available and you can access it on Lion by doing the above and downloading the ios config file. The second is to add the native vpn for Lion which lets you use wireless 1.0…you can do that via the steps in the link below. The directions are for snow leopard but work in lion as well.
