Brent Ambrose, Smeal Professor of Risk Management and Director of the Institute for Real Estate Studies (IRES) in the Penn State Smeal College of Business, participated in The Borsa Istanbul Finance and Economics Conference (BIFEC), held at Borsa İstanbul on September 30th and October 1st 2013. Dr. Ambrose, prominent in the fields of global economics and finance, was one of the presenters. The conference, entitled “Policy Issues and Challenges in the Global Financial System and Economies”, focused on: financial markets and institutions, behavioral finance, new financial instruments and derivatives, the interactions between the stock markets, financial crises, corporate finance, real estate finance and markets, monetary and fiscal policy. Dr. Ambrose’s presentation focused on Real Estate Market “Counterparty Risk and Capital Structure”. Conference attendees included stock exchange presidents from emerging markets.
Dr. Ambrose, also the director of Ph.D. programs in Smeal, specializes in real estate finance, corporate finance, and fixed income security analysis. He earned his B.S. in business from Wake Forest University in 1986 and an MBA in finance and Ph.D. in real estate from the University of Georgia in 1987 and 1989, respectively.
