Global Impact Internships

Welcome to the Smeal Global Impact Internship Blog.  This initiative is a partnership between the Career & Corporate Connections Office and Smeal’s International Programs office and is designed to provide additional opportunities for students to build global awareness.

The Global Impact Internship program consists of four areas of opportunities to fit student needs:

US based companies:
Companies hire students initially for US based internships, but have opportunities to apply within the organization for international opportunities.

Third party providers:
Fee based services which place students with companies that fit the students interests and skills.

Non-Profit International Internships*:
Non-Profit organizations seeking business students for efforts in developing countries

Non-Profit Internships in Washington DC*:
Opportunities for students who may want to work for an international organization, but may not be quite ready to take the step to work in the developing world

All of these opportunities are posted in the Smeal Symplicity System under “Global Impact”.
Funding available for these opportunities through the Target CEDP Grant Program.

Throughout this blog we will work to post information on each of the organizations we are working with for more details on the opportunities available, articles on the importance of an international experience for your career, interviews from students currently on internship, and event information.  As a reader, please use this blog as a research resource for your career exploration, let us know if there are any topics you would like to see covered, and make sure to comment on the information you are finding through our posts.

Students can take advantage of this program as well as Smeal’s International Program’s study abroad offerings to enhance their education through a valuable international experience. For more information, view the Career & Corporate Connections and International Programs websites.
